At a well attended Dinner at the end of the AfICTA Summit 2014 and in celebration of the CairoICT2014 under the auspices of H. E. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, President of Egypt and Eng Atef Helmy, the Minister of Communication & IT on November 5, 2014, AfICTA conferred the following awards on four distinguished personalities:
1. Chairman Award to Eng Hussein El-Gueretly, CEO ITIDA Egypt for his strong support towards the success of AfICTA Summit 2014
2. Chairman Award to Eng Hossam El-Gamal, Chair, AfICTA Summit 2014 for his exemplary service that ensured the success of AfICTA Summit 2014
3. Africa ICT Champion 2014 Award to Chris Uwaje, Chair Mobile Solutions Ltd and former President ITAN & ISPON Nigeria; for his pioneering ICT Development work in Africa, Nigeria in particular and for his award winning Mobile Solution, the Malaria Destroyer Game.
4. AfICTA Patron bestowed on the Minister of Communication and Information Technology, H.E. Eng Atef Helmy for his extraordinary commitment to building bridges for Africa's tomorrow through cooperation, collaboration and integration engendered by ICT for the transformation Africa in all ramifications.
Earlier, the Chair of AfICTA, Dr Jimson Olufuye supported by Eng Hossam El-Gamal, Chair of AfICTA 2014 Organising Committee & Dr Hazeem El-Tahawy, Chair of EITESAL reflected on the event of the past three days and recognized Egyptian government's commitment to building bridges of friendship, brotherliness, cooperation and collaboration with the rest of Africa. He said "ICT as an enabler is a veritable transformational tool of our age with which a new Africa can be born from the North to the South and the East to the West". He underscored the strong support provided by H. E. President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Eng Atef Helmy, the Minister of Communication & IT and thanked them on behalf of the over 200 delegates to the AfICTA Summit 2014.
