 On 12 August ICANN informed the US National Telecommunication and Information Administration (NTIA) that it has completed or will complete all necessary tasks called for in the IANA stewardship transition proposal by the end of the contract term. After reviewing ICANN’s report, the NTIA announced on 16 August that barring any significant impediment, it intends to allow the IANA functions contract to expire as of October 1. |
