AfICTA Pays Tribute to Dr. Tarek Kamel

We are short of words to express our sorrow for the loss of Dr. Tarek Kamel, ex-Egyptian Minister of ICT. He was a real leader and a true believer in the multistakeholder approach to public policy matters pertaining to the Internet.

Dr Tarek Kamel was a main catalyst of digital transformation in Egypt and brought his experience and efforts to support the international ICT community at the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS), Internet Governance Forum (IGF), the IGF Support Association (IGFSA) and the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) among many others.

We will always remember and celebrate Dr Tarek Kamel as one of the great African ICT leaders.

Our condolences to the family and the global ICT Community. May his gentle soul rest in peace. Amen. More information about Dr. Kamel is available here
