It was with sadness that we received today the news of the passing of Ms. Marilyn Cade.
Marilyn was a reliable friend, mentor, and support throughout the evolution of AfICTA-Africa ICT Alliance. She was a pioneering member of the ICANN Business Constituency and an original thinker on Internet Governance (IG) matters.
She was passionate in her support for the voices of business from the global South in the complex multi-stakeholder and multi-lateral ecosystem of the IG in the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), International Telecommunications Union (ITU), United Nations Commission on Science & Technology for Development (UN CSTD) and in many other fora.
Her rich wisdom and insight would be greatly missed.
The Chair, the Board, and the entire membership of AfICTA express our deepest sorrow.
May her gentle soul rest in peace.
